A great way to add a new level of excitement to your party or event is to have a Blackjack Tournament.  The excitement starts in the early stages as the players have to make bets based on what the other players are betting and builds up toward the end of the night with a “final table” to determine the top winners.  

Blackjack Tournaments are run like this:  Every player is assigned a table (or scheduled a time to play at one of the tables at the party) and every player will start with the same amount of chips.  Players will play blackjack over a specified period of time.  The player (or players) with the most amount of chips at the end of the time period is declared the top winner, second, third etc.  The top finishers will then compete against each other at the final table, making strategic bets, and having a great time as we determine who the top winners of the night will win the prizes.

What makes Blackjack Tournaments exciting and fun is the competition with their fellow players.  Unlike traditional blackjack where each player is playing against the dealer, in tournament blackjack the players not only compete against the dealer, but the also compete against each other to get the most chips.

There are two types of blackjack tournament formats, the elimination and non-elimination.  In the elimination format, the players compete against each other until the top 1 or 2 players are determined for each table.

The other players at the table are eliminated from further competition when they have lost all their chips or they are not the top winners at their table.  When the top winners from each table are determined, they return for the final table of competition to determine the overall winners.  In the non-elimination format, every player continues in the competition for a set amount of time.  At the end of the time period the top seven players who have accumulated the most chips are put together at the final table for the final round of competition.
